Friends of Penny Min Pin Rescue is a devoted team of elite dog rescuers. They save the lives of Miniature Pinschers across the nation. Unlike other shelters or rescue groups, the elite team of Friends of Penny will save any dog in need; and this includes dogs in their senior years. Friends of Penny are looking to provide great comfort to senior Min Pins and senior citizens; pairing them up to create a perfect match and providing unlimited love to both.

Friends of Penny has great compassion and respect for all senior citizens. Realizing that as person grows older; it can bring about certain issues that adopting a Min Pin can ease. We have deep respect for seniors that who have worked the majority of their lives and are may now be uncertain how to fill their time. The senior years can sometimes be lonely ones, for people and for Min Pins. Adopting a senior dog can provide amazing comfort, companionship, unconditional love and will provide a precious little creature of God that will cherish and appreciate every moment in their new home.

The dogs that are saved by Friends of Penny are dogs that have seen very little love in their lives. Most have been neglected and forgotten about. Our goal is to find loving seniors who have the compassion to adopt a senior dog and provide what these dogs have never been given: a real home with comfort, kindness and the warmth of a loving hand. A person who adopts is a true savior to these Min Pins. The love a person will receive in return is priceless.

Friends of Penny works very closely with each senior to ensure a perfect match is made. They also are diligent that all Min Pins will be completely vetted, heartworm negative while receiving monthly treatments, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date with all vaccinations before being adopted. In addition, Friends of Penny is always there to offer support and answer questions for the new families of the Min Pins.

A senior Min Pin is a perfect match for senior citizens for many reasons:

  •  Older dogs are house trained, thus they are very easy to care for
  •  Older dogs are passed the stage of chewing and will never disrupt the home
  •  Older dogs are very calm, providing peaceful companionship beyond compare
  •  Older dogs are well-trained in the basic commands, such as “no” and “come”
  •  Older dogs are so grateful to be given a second chance at life and will offer all they have in terms of providing great affection and friendship
  •  Older dogs are instant companions and will enthusiastically accompany a person anywhere; whether it be to run errands, go for walks; anything a senior citizen wishes to do, the Min Pin will go along with great pleasure
  •  Older dogs do not need constant care. They are responsible and do not demand a lot of time. When their owner is ready to do something, the Min Pin is there. When an owner wishes to rest, the Min Pin happily lays down.
  •  Older dogs are very accustomed to human schedules such as sleeping and eating, they do not require any nighttime feedings or walks. They will peacefully sleep while there senior family member sleeps

Seniors who welcome a pet into their lives will be making a decision to improve their own life and the life of a precious Min Pin. These dogs are all alone. Many senior citizens feel alone. Adopting a Min Pin through the Seniors for Seniors program of Friends of Penny is a wonderful and amazing opportunity. Our goal is to provide happiness to both seniors.
